Application For Ownership Contact Us Tina Dennis956-687-8824 home 7pm-9pm Central accept for Wednesday and Sunday [ Email Us Here ]
OUR PROCESS
Many people have compared my process to that of an adoption agency. Well, that is close. You are becoming a owner of one of our puppies, that makes you extended family to us, and we want to know what type of family our puppy is getting. We keep in contact with our owners and want to hear back from them. I get many pictures and lovely stories about our dogs. It is the only way it is possible to part with them. - The price for our dogs is $3000 for pet quality. The price for show quality dogs is $3000, plus contract agreements and co ownership until contract agreements are met.
- Read this page and print it out.
- Answer the questions numerically and email your answers to RegencyNorfolks@aol.com.
- I will let you know when I have received the application. Based on your application, I will decide whether you have passed my first process. At that point, I will check out your references and arrange for you to talk to me (set an telephone appointment). If you wish, I will be glad to have you visit my home (which isn't a kennel), it is a house and a home.
- Please, make sure your references are expecting my call...this includes Vet, Groomer, Kennel, and Personal References.
- If you wish, at this point, I can provide you the names, emails, or telephone numbers of a few of my Norfolk Terrier owners so that you can check me out. You can also contact my personal vet, if you wish, but he is hard to reach during business hours and can't return long distance calls.
- If you are accepted as new parents for my dogs....I will let you know.
- You will receive a contract to sign and return with a non refundable $250 deposit.
- I will provide you with updates and pictures of the puppies are they progess.
- We will work out the delivery of your puppy (shipped or picked up).
- You will be required to pay for the dog, shipping and crate before the dog is shipped. I accept Cashier's Checks or wire transfers. Personal checkes will only be accepted if you pay far enough in advance for the check to clear before I ship the puppy.
- At approximately 12 weeks of age, you will become the proud owners of a new dog.
- Your dog will be delivered with a leash, collar, a complete health record, and is guaranteed healthy. We will discuss food, feeding, supplies you may need, training manuals that are helpful, etc. etc. etc.
- You will be required to have the puppy/dog checked out by your personal vet within 72 hours of receiving the dog and report back to me.
You will have complete access to Mike and I as owners of one of our dogs, day and night for any reason. We are there to support you and help you along the way. This process is slightly different for an older puppy or for an adult dog.
OUR EXPECTATIONS Our dogs come to their new owners with the hope of a good home and the life long companionship of their human owners. We feel that it is necessary to try to match the dog and their personality to that of the family/new owners. Some people applying for ownership of a Norfolk Terrier, may not be suitable owners. We reserve the right to not sell our dogs to people we don't think will provide them a lifetime home or a suitable home. A dog is a tremendous responsibility that can last 12 years or longer. Norfolk terriers are active, fun loving, loving companions for a family or an individual! We hope you are ready for a commitment. A Norfolk Terrier is one of the most precious and protected of the terrier breeds. With only about 300 of these dogs being born in the United States annually, there is a limited supply. There are more males than females born (approximately 3 males to every female). You can request a sex, but there is no guarantee that sex will be available. Our pet/companion quality dogs will be sold on a limited American Kennel Club registration and with a spay/neuter contract. The price is $3000. This means you cannot breed or show this dog in an AKC conformation event unless the breeder upgrades the registration to full. You will, however, be able to show the dog in Obedience, Agility, Earthdog or other Events. Adult dogs are sold spayed or nuetered. Show puppies are sold with a full registration, but they must be co owned with Mike and I until their AKC Championship is finished. No dog will be sold with a full registration to be used for breeding without this requirement being met. My dogs have been lovingly raised in my home and socialized to the extent that I can do so without endangering them or exposing them to illness. Because of their small size (5 to 6 pounds) at the age of 12 weeks, and to make sure they go to their new homes with some protection from parvo, distemper, rabies and some other diseases, we keep our puppies until the age of 12 weeks. (This is also a requirement of the Code of Ethnics of the Norwich and Norfolk Terrier Club...the AKC parent club for this breed). THE ACTUAL APPLICATION
