Sweet Pea & Tina on arrival day
Regency Norfolk Terriers began in 1993 at the death of our beloved mixed terrier, Daisy Mae. We began a search for the perfect companion dog that would mix well with the labradors we had loved and bred for 14 years. A Norfolk Terrier was decided on because of their size, personality, non quarrelsome nature and because of their resemblance to Daisy Mae. Not only did the first bitch we purchased fit right in with our family and other dogs, but Sweet Pea is beautiful, a wonderful mover, confident, loyal, fearless and just about everything you could want in a dog. She finished her championship in three weekends out with her handler, Liz Tobin.

Ch Max-Well's Weatherman (Storm)
For our first breeding, we choose a then unknown dog from one of the top show kennels in the United States - Champion (CH) Max-Well's Weatherman (Storm). Storm is now a seven time Specialty Winning Norfolk, won 23 Best in Shows, and has two consecutive Best of Breeds with two consecutive Terrier Group Placements at the Westminister Kennel Club Dog Show. The result of that first breeding was a litter of exceptional puppies, raised by an extra ordinaryly devoted and gifted Sweet Pea.

Regency's first litter with Tina
Out of a first litter of three puppies, all three finished their AKC Championships and all with style. Pepe was Winner's Dog at the Garden State All Terrier Show, and Angie was Winner's Bitch at the Heart of Texas Norwich/Norfolk Terrier Club Supported Entry in 1996. The owner of the third puppy put an AKC Championship on her dog, CH Regency's Winston at Abbedale, and brags that he is wonderful with children, loves to go fishing and hangs around with his people.

The purpose of our breeding program and kennel is to improve and enhance the Norfolk Terrier Breed. We like a dog to conform to the AKC standard and have the proper Norfolk personality. We want our dogs to be in a loving home and a fun home. Hand raised and socialized in our home, Regency Norfolks excell in fun. They are always having fun, looking for fun, or giving their owners loving attention and loyal devotion. The low maintenance coats (more manicured for show) are what we refer to as "wash and wear". They are generally great with chlidren, but not recommended to be placed in homes with very small children. Regency Norfolks enjoy hunting, digging, swimming, and chasing and retrieving. Companionship with their people is mandatory. A Norfolk Terrier needs to live in the house with their beloved owners. Ours only leave home to obtain their AKC Championships. Since our goal is to have beloved companions, ours live with us in our home, play with us and keep us entertained.

Sweet Pea and Tina reunited after finishing her Championship (both happy with tears)
We breed for our own pleasure and for show. Occasionally we have available a puppy or an older dog. We prefer to place our dogs in lifetime companion homes, where we know they will be loved and treasured and give love and enjoyment. Occasionally, we will have a show prospect for sale.
